I was slave.
Slave to sin.
Bound for the grave.
Never to rise again.
But my King
He died for me
He took the sting
Rose in victory!
Truth I know
Has set me free
And-whom the Son sets free
Is free indeed!
This spoken word was inspired by the following scripture in the Holy Bible.
John 8:31-36 (NRSV)
Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, "If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." They answered him, "We are descendants of Abraham and have never been slaves to anyone. What do you mean by saying, 'You will be made free'?"
Jesus answered them, "Very truly, I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not have a permanent place in the household; the son has a place there forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.

DIM SIGHT
Truly
I believed
that I was Seeing
the world
Clearly…
But after He touched me
I realized
that I had been Seeing
the world
Amiss.
I was blind…
Seeing men as trees and enemies
Women who were laughing
With tears running down their faces
Jolly children in my home
Who were dying on the inside.
Life is not
what I
Imagined
it to be…
I was chasing a dream
A fantasy
Hope unborn
Real joy never truly rising…
BUT
After HE
Touched me
Anointed me
Pointed me in the right direction
And sent me on my way
I saw all of the love and hate
Joy and sorrow
Abundance and desperation
Peace and war throughout the earth.
And I realized…
I will always
need HIM
To see things
Clearly…
Healthy
Happy
Holy
Whole
All gift from Him
Love
Gift
Salvation.
Death
Resurrection
Victory.
All unmerited favor.
I thought
that I
was Seeing
Clearly…
But I saw through a glass
Dimly.
$moke and $creens
Kept me from recognizing
TRUTH.
You are
The Way
The Truth
The Life…
Jesus! Jesus!
I need you now.
I want to live.
I want to do right.
Please speak to me
Fill me up with Your Love…
That I may live
That I may Live
That I may
ETERNALLY
LIVE.
This Spoken WORD was inspired by the following scripture from the Holy Bible.
Mark 8:22-26 (NRSV)
Jesus heals a blind man
They came to Bethsaida. Some people brought a blind man to him and begged him to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village; and when he had put saliva on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, "Can you see anything?" And the man looked up and said, "I can see people, but they look like trees, walking." Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he looked intently and his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly. Then he sent him away to his home, saying, "Do not even go into the village."

I Confer On You a Kingdom
I am great
I seek riches, fame, and fortune
I will rule
With servants at my call
I will reign
As elder, lord, and father
I will sit
In judgment of all.
I am least
I seek service, care, compassion
I will rule
But in service to all
I will reign
As brother, friend, and savior
I will judge, but
With compassion on all.
To be great
In my coming kingdom
You will rule
As servant to all
You will reign
Full of love, care, and compassion
You will judge
With humility toward all.
Today’s spoken WORD comes from the following scripture in the Holy Bible:
Luke 22:24-30 (NRSV)
The greatness of one who serves
A dispute also arose among them as to which one of them was to be regarded as the greatest. But he said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those in authority over them are called benefactors. But not so with you; rather the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
"You are those who have stood by me in my trials; and I confer on you, just as my Father has conferred on me, a kingdom, so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

With Their Lips...
They honor me
With flowery words
Acting like
They’ve never heard
That I can see
Into the heart
I know The Truth
Before they start
Deep inside
They’re far away
Teaching lies
Every day
What really matters
Is what you do
How you live
Holiness accrued
In vain they worship
Play a parting a part
Come Judgment Day
They’ll hear “DEPART”
Because they did not
Know the Lord
Because they did not
God adore
Do what I say
Not what I do
Will keep heavens gates
Barred to you.
This rhyme was inspired by the following scripture from the Holy Bible:
Matthew 15:1-9 (NRSV)
Jesus teaches true commandments
Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, "Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands before they eat." He answered them, "And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? For God said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'Whoever speaks evil of father or mother must surely die.' But you say that whoever tells father or mother, 'Whatever support you might have had from me is given to God,' then that person need not honor the father. So, for the sake of your tradition, you make void the word of God. You hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied rightly about you when he said:
'This people honors me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me;
in vain do they worship me,
teaching human precepts as doctrines.' "

This rhyme was inspired by the following scripture from the Holy Bible:

The law endures
The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all this, and they ridiculed him. So he said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of others; but God knows your hearts; for what is prized by human beings is an abomination in the sight of God.
"The law and the prophets were in effect until John came; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is proclaimed, and everyone tries to enter it by force. But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one stroke of a letter in the law to be dropped.
"Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and whoever marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.
